Wireless data transfer via WLAN
High data throughput
Two different operating modes
| Easy diagnostics | | | CANlink® WLAN enables the wireless transmission of CAN data with a high data throughput between various CAN networks or a CAN network and a WLAN/LAN network according to the 802.11b/g standard. CANlink® WLAN is highly suitable for connecting mobile (e.g., vehicles or machines) or stationary CAN networks (e.g., buildings or systems) and is often used for short ranges up to 100 m. TCP or UDP data protocols are available. Using an appropriately configured router, CAN data can be transmitted over the Internet. CANlink® WLAN offers two operating modes: the access point mode and the ad-hoc mode. In the access point mode, the data connection takes place over one or several WLAN access points that are often part of the company's internal IT infrastructure. In the ad-hoc mode, a direct connection is established between a single CANlink® WLAN device and a PC or laptop (with an integrated WLAN interface), or with a second CANlink® WLAN device. In this way, CANlink® WLAN can be used as a CAN diagnosis interface. The wireless connection that is established between two CANlink® WLAN units can be used instead of a cable, and enables the connection of CAN networks that would otherwise be difficult to link such as rotational machinery. On request, CANlink® WLAN is also available with a secondary CAN interface or a built-in I/O-interface. | |
| | Customer-specific models | | | Hardware components such as the front membrane can be adapted to the needs of the customer. The CAN side and the WLAN side are electrically isolated from each other. | | | Adaptive firmware | | | The firmware of CANlink® WLAN can also be adapted to specific needs of the customer. CANlink® WLAN is delivered with the RM CAN Device Monitor software package. |
