Data exchange between CAN and USB
Connection via virtual serial COM port
Additional driver for Windows® CE devices
| Fast data transfer | | | Through its USB interface, CANview® USB enables fast data exchange with a PC. The connection to the device is established over a virtual serial COM port. The port acts like a conventional RS-232 interface, but supports the high speeds of the USB interface. For this reason, CANview® USB can easily be exchanged with the CAN/RS-232 converter CANview®. | |
| | OEM variant possible | | | CANview® USB is available as an OEM device or in a robust aluminum housing for deployment in rugged environments. The device is powered via the USB port and does not require a separate power adapter. The CAN side and the USB side are electrically isolated from each other. | | | For high-performance applications | | | CANview® USB contains a powerful 8-bit microcontroller which can be programmed from the PC with the help of Windows®1 software. Thus, the device is capable of supporting customer-specific CAN protocols and reliably executing high-performance applications. CANview® USB is configured with the RM CAN Device Configurator software. The RM CAN Device Monitor software enables the display and transmission of CAN messages and the execution of CANopen functions. The enclosed software includes a driver for Windows®1 CE devices (e.g., PDAs) which support the USB master functionality. Drivers for Mac and Linux are also available. Both the software and the firmware can be customized. |
